Manila, Philippines – Prime Infrastructure Holding, Inc.’s WawaJVCo capped the year 2021 with a total corporate citizenship investment of Php40M providing timely pandemic-related support, climate resilience initiatives, and educational projects for the three host communities in Antipolo, Montalban and San Mateo in Rizal Province.
WawaJVCo’s CSR programs for 2021 included donating supplies to the local community and indigenous peoples to help with pandemic response, provision of goods in support of preserving and promoting local cultural heritage and traditions of the Montalban and Antipolo IPs and the supply of materials to renovate a local church.
To help uplift and upskill the community, WawaJVCo also initiated a leadership and financial literacy program and an inclusive, community-based disaster risk reduction program, along with providing support to local community schools to help equip their distance learning program during the ongoing pandemic. In addition, WawaJVCo also started the development of an eco-tourism masterplan to provide guidance and recommendations on how to care for the local community’s environment, residents, culture and tradition, and community and economic development.
In an effort to improve the mobility of the IPs and local community in the province, rehabilitation of various roads were undertaken to make it easier for people and goods to move from farms to the central locations, schools, and nearby barangays.
“At the core of our strategy is sustainability so we make sure that all our assets operate in a way that helps communities, conserves natural resources and implements programs that are aligned with Prime Infra’s purpose to build better lives and resilient economies through critical infrastructure. And we are happy to announce that with the various local partnerships, we were able to help and support up to 2,500 local community and IP families in 2021” said Melvin John Tan, President of WawaJVCo.
