CEBU CITY — Prime Infrastructure Foundation, Inc. kicked off its community outreach activities this Christmas 2022, collaborating with the Prime Integrated Waste Solutions Inc. (PIWSI) for a meaningful and sustainable project benefiting families at Sitio Kainsikan in Barangay Binaliw.

PIWSI, a Prime Infra subsidiary, is set to fully acquire ARN Central Waste Management, Inc. (ACI), which currently receives around 1,000 tons of Cebu province’s municipal solid waste daily in a facility located at Sitio Kainsikan. PIWSI aims to transform the Cebu facility to bring it at par with world-class Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF) in other developed countries like Singapore.

With the business centered on sustainable practices, the focus of PIWSI’s CSR activity held December 8 is an on-the-spot art contest with the theme “Observing Waste Management during the Holidays.”

Over 50 children and youth aged 4 to 20 participated in the contest that both showcased creativity and served as a learning opportunity on proper waste management. A total of nine winning artworks was chosen from the entries that best captured the theme.

Prime Infra Foundation and PIWSI also held a mini Christmas party for the participants. Food carts with hotdogs, ice cream popcorn, and street food were set-up, as well as a photo booth to capture memories of the fun-filled day.

The kids also got to take home toys and snacks, and 200 families were given Noche Buena packs to cap the day’s activity.
